Consultation: The first step in becoming a patient at Central Chiropractic is recording and evaluating your health history. Consultation indicates to both the doctor and patient what options are to be explored.  We will personalize your care from the information we obtain from your health history.   Your consultation will help create the potential for well being and improve the quality of your life, rather than just focusing on your illness.

Examination:  Your examination will be thorough and may include various tests to help us completely understand your condition.  Chiropractic examination identifies restricted skeletal joint movement, muscle spasm, swelling (edema), scar tissue and pain.  Our primary objective is to relieve pain quickly and hasten your return to health.

X-Rays:  An x-ray study may be necessary. We use state-of-the-art equipment and low-dosage techniques when such a view is necessary. In addition to assessing the possibility of disease, we look at the structure and alignment of your skeletal system. You are welcome to bring previous film with you for comparison.

Chiropractic Adjustment: Adjustments can help relieve pain, as well as, restore and maintain normal movement, biomechanics and function to joints when the body's own muscles cannot.  The gentle and controlled use of adjustments safely generates the energy needed to overcome movement restrictions and take a joint back to its normal, pain-free, full range of motion.

Some of the more common conditions that are regularly diagnosed and treated at Central Chiropractic include:

Neck Pain - Chiropractic has been shown to relieve neck pain from a number of disorders and diseases such as degnerative  disc disease, neck strain, whiplash, a herniated disc or a pinched nerve.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - Chiropractic can reduce a compression of the median nerve at the wrist that may be causing you numbness, tingling, weakness, or muscle damage in the hand and fingers.

Sciatica (leg pain) - Chiropractic can reduce the pressure on the sciatic nerve and thereby relieve pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve - from your back down your buttock and leg.

Back Pain - Chiropractic can relieve back pain that can develop with muscle strain, injury to the back, overuse, muscle disorders, pressure on a nerve root, poor posture, pregnancy, and many others.

Numbness or Pain in the Shoulder &/or Down the Arm - Chiropractic can identify and treat a neck injury that may cause you to feel numbness anywhere in your shoulder and along your arm or hand.

Knee Injury - Problems with the knee can be caused by 1) poor mechanics or overuse of the knee joint, 2) traumatic injury from events such as sports and falls, and 3) problems due to arthritic changes in the joint.  Stabilizing the mechanical changes with chiropractic adjustment can take pressure off the weakened pain sites and enable a steady recovery.

Ankle Injury - Chiropractic adjustment of the ankle can be very effective, especially when performed soon after a sprain.  If done immediately after injury, any swelling and bruising is greatly reduced and the overall healing time is far, far shorter.

Headaches - Most headaches don't actually stem from pain in your brain tissue or skull - most headaches are related to nerves in your neck that lead to your scalp.  Chiropractic can relieve promblems in your neck and reduce irritation of the nerves in your scalp that cause headaches.

Whiplash - Neck pain following an injury to the soft tissues of your neck (specifically ligaments, tendons, and muscles) can be accompanied by misalignment of the vertebrae (bones) in the neck.   Chiropractic has been proven to be an execellent treamtent for whiplash involving motor vehicle accidents, sporting activities, and accidental falls.

TMJ - Common symptoms of Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) are a limited range of motion and noises such as clicking, grinding, or crunching when you open and close your mouth.  Chiropractic can provide rehabilitation and return of motion through  of the TMJ.
